New Special Needs Program Coming This Spring!

The Weston Soccer Club is pleased to be bringing TOPSoccer, a special needs oriented program, to Weston this spring.

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community based soccer program that provides meaningful learning, development, and physical participation opportunities for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to meet the needs of children in grades K-8 with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

TOPSoccer began in 1991, and was designed and is now administered by US Youth Soccer, the nation’s largest youth sports organization. This program fosters the physical and emotional growth and development of America’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels. It takes kids from the sidelines and gets them into the game.

The players will develop a sense of community and will learn what it is like to be a part of a team. The program will improve their social skills, fitness and self-esteem, but most importantly the players will have FUN! Players need to wear sneakers or cleats and bring a soccer ball.

How Does TOPSoccer Work?

  • Once a week, Saturdays at 12:15 at Morehouse Farm Park in Weston.

  • 1 hour long, fun games, drills and small sided games.

  • 6 sessions beginning Saturday April 8th and running through May 13th with Saturday May 20th as a make-up rain day.

  • Cost of the program is $150 per season.

  • A professional coach will be provided by Soccer Edge

  • Volunteer “buddies” will be paired up with each child and stay with them on the field.

  • Parents are required to stay at field during entire session.

  • Focus on fun.

Who is Eligible to Play?

  • Any child with a physical or intellectual disability, grades K-8.
