The Weston Soccer Club, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization managed by volunteers. The Club delivers quality age and skill-appropriate soccer programs to boys and girls grades Pre-K through 12 and adults in Weston, Connecticut.
The Weston Soccer Club is pleased to bring TOPSoccer, a special needs oriented program, to Weston this spring.
TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community based soccer program that provides meaningful learning, development, and physical participation opportunities for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to meet the needs of children in grades K-8 with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
TOPSoccer began in 1991, and was designed and is now administered by US Youth Soccer, the nation’s largest youth sports organization. This program fosters the physical and emotional growth and development of America’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels. It takes kids from the sidelines and gets them into the game.
The players will develop a sense of community and will learn what it is like to be a part of a team. The program will improve their social skills, fitness and self-esteem, but most importantly the players will have FUN! Players need to wear sneakers or cleats and bring a soccer ball.
